第一题,因为 before doing 实际上是before sb do 的一种简写形式,但是 这个省略了的sb必须跟 这句话的主语一致,也就是说 before getting up,i had a good dream.这个 get up的主语 就是主语我,但是 这句话中 that后面这句话的主语是 five years,和see Derek 的主语不一致 所以 seeing 错了,得改成 完整的主谓.
第二题,你提出的这个问题 挺好的,但是要注意 would 除了表示 ①过去将来时 ②对现在的虚拟语气 之外 还可以 表示 一个人的意愿,i would do...感觉就行would like to do 是一样的; 这句话的整体基调 是 客观事实 描述客观现象,应该就是用一般现在时,would表意愿
第三题,你要注意的是,不是所有的 前文出现过两个名词 后面的代词都会指代不清,如果真是这样 那代词这种东西就几乎灭绝了.这句话 虽然 有 research,heart disease,use,technology,四个名词,但是 全句话 讲的就是 heart disease的事,换句话说,心脏病 是全句的中心意思,"对心脏病的研究" "对心脏病的治疗的技术" 所以不会指代不清.换句话说 代词 可以或者说经常指代 全句 意思的中心.(如果需要进一步的解释 给我留言)
第四题,D肯定不对 是因为 全句讲的是 客观事实,不能用一般过去式failed.Aand连接前后不平行 前面是go through 后面是 failing; C 分号后面 句子不完整; D是failed时态不对; E是 but逻辑连词不对,经过严格审查和最少失败一次 没有转折关系.排除完 就只剩下B 是对的了 选B.

第二题 那个is跟would没有关系 那个is只是指的那个人是（is known）经常赌钱的人 而那个would是用在没有人会（would）借钱给那个人。如果把句子中的形容词缩去的话 就会使 No one would lend money to a person. 后面那句有is的句子是形容person的~
