这道题错的地方是Gained,我可以理解 但是后面的and by 1996怎么和前面的重了 而且was gaining 为什么这样用呢 be doing用在这里对么?
2、because his experience in the navy medical corps had been rewarding,Bob applied to medical school after hew was discharged from the navy.
这句话是没有错的,但是我觉得rewarding 是不是应该或者可以改成rewarded 呢 就是之前的经历是被奖赏过的 我知道rewarding可以 那么如果是rewarded是对的么?

要是硬要按着原题理解,and by 1996, was gaining as many as a thousand new customers each week.这句话的意思就是：在1996年之前,网络服务商的客户数在以每周1000个的速度增长.
was gaining 用地对,用于表过去进行时,表示从1996年其每周的客户数在增长1000个

2.在语法上,用had been rewarding和had been rewarded都是对的,
但意思稍有不同,
had been rewarding过去完成进行时,表示“那时候他已经得到部分奖励,且奖赏还将进行”
had been rewarded表示过去完成时
表示他已经被奖赏过了,之后不会再有了,强调完成了.
